Domain Hosting: Parks and Rec hosting public forums to develop master plan
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled five public forums during the next several weeks, the results of which will be used to formulate a 10-year master plan for growth and development in the county. Parks and Recreation Director Doug Hood said the meetings, scheduled to touch all areas of the county, would give citizens the chance to address their needs for new facilities and programs, or even tell department officials they are happy with the status quo. “Even if you’re happy, we still want you to come out and let us know that you’re happy,” Hood said.

Domain Hosting: Irish Coast Guard hosting Co-ordinated Extended Pollution Control Operation
The Irish Coast Guard is hosting a Co-ordinated Extended Pollution Control Operation (CEPCO) this week on the shipping lanes on the East and South Coast of Ireland. The Operation, under the terms of the Bonn Agreement, involves aircraft and crew from Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, UK and France while Finland and Denmark have sent observers. The Operation involves a continuous sequence of aerial surveillance flights supported by seabourne assistance - and where possible also with data from satellite observations – to ensure a permanent presence (e.g. over a period of 24hrs) in a sea area with high shipping intensity. This high level of deployment of means is only possible when several (neighbouring) Contracting Parties cooperate intensively to ensure continuity and optimal coordination of the surveillance activities.

SEATTLE, Wash. - With five games already under its belt, Washington men's soccer continues its 2004 spring schedule hosting two of its last three games at Husky Soccer Field. The Huskies entertain Western Washington, Saturday, April 10, at 6 p.m. and Northwest rival Portland, Saturday, April 17, at 1 p.m. Washington will wrap its spring slate traveling south to face the Portland Timbers, Saturday, April 24. The Huskies are 3-1-1 so far in spring play, earning victories over Trinity Western, UW Alumni and Portland, while falling to the Seattle Sounders and ending in a 1-1 tie with Gonzaga. In its spring opener on Feb. 13, Washington used goals from Kevin Forrest and Brett Wiesner to down Trinity Western 2-1. UW followed that with a 3-0 shutout of the alumni team on Feb. 21, on a pair of goals from Wiesner and another goal by Will Flanagan.

The Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity is now registering teams for a May 8 revival of a sand volleyball tournament after the two-year hiatus. Due to overwhelming interest, Terry Hepner, Sigma Tau Gamma spokesperson, says they are still seeking entrants and may expand the tourney to allow for more entrants All teams should complete and mail in a Team Registration form and registration fees, which can be found at http://volleyball.ucosigtau.com, or call 408-3984 for information. "Register early," said Hapner, "We expect a lot of interest." The prizes are: $200 for first, 100 for second + donated prizes, and donated prizes for third place.

Governor Ernie Fletcher will host his first online Town Hall meeting at 8 p.m. tonight.Through an interactive online forum, people will be able to ask Gov. Fletcher questions about statewide issues, including tax modernization and the critical need for legislators to pass the Kentucky Senate Budget with jobs for Kentucky. "I am accessing every possible avenue to reach the people of Kentucky and discuss the issues that matter the most," Gov. Fletcher said. "I look forward to communicating with folks from our online town hall meeting."

Domain Hosting: IU track hosting premier meet
Top track and field athletes at the high school and college levels have participated for years in meets such as the Penn Relays, Drake Relays and Florida Relays. Tonight and Saturday, a similar concept will be unveiled at the Indiana Relays on the Indiana University track in Bloomington. Eight of the state's top 20 boys track teams and five of the state's top 20 girls track teams will compete in a high school event while the Hoosiers host Indiana State, Central Michigan and Southern Illinois in a college event.
