Iserv Acquires Eastern Michigan-Area Customers of 1010internet
The Iserv Co., one of the largest independent ISPs (Internet Service Providers) in Michigan, today announced it has acquired the eastern Michigan-area customers of Scottville, Mich.-based 1010internet, LLC. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.The agreement provides Iserv with 1010internet's current customer base in the cities of Bad Axe, Bay City, Ubly, Standish and the surrounding areas. Current 1010internet customers in these areas will continue to use the same dial-up access numbers and e-mail addresses. more>>

Forest Service hosting two summits
Forestland owners can learn how they can help preserve land.The loss of 1 million acres of the state's forest land in just a little over a decade is prompting the N.C. Forest Service to host two summits to show forestland owners how they can help preserve forests, and what the state is willing to do to help them.Claud Carawan Jr., who manages about 200 acres of forestland in Pamlico County, said the summits will offer forestland owners opportunities to learn how to keep their forestland productive and healthy, and provide information about cost sharing programs and reforestation tax credits. more>>
